ceramic tea kettle- storm blue
This tea kettle was made during the 2020 pandemic shutdown, and was one of the many ceramic pieces I made to challenge myself with creating different vessels. It was thrown in many pieces and then assembled to complete the form, along with being glazed and fired with a color sold by Spectrum Glazes, called Nova Storm Blue. It was listed and sold as one of the first products in my Etsy launch. There are many different styles of handmade tea kettles in differing cultures, and I wish to challenge myself with more in the future....
abstract carved mug- oxblood
This mug was made with a small batch of other mugs in which I explored different mug shapes and ways to incorporate my abstract designs. The carvings were primarily present on the bottom of my mugs and unseen otherwise. This was an example of when I explored past limiting designs to the bottom of the pot. The glazes used were a Amaco celebration celebration, "baby blue" color, and a glaze by Mayco called "oxblood" Each carved design is original and unique to the pot. This was uploaded in my third Etsy drop, where I was starting to get the hang of photographing products and shipping/uploading ...
black mug- abstract carved porcelain
This mug was a part of the fall 2021 Etsy drop in which I included items that I made of porcelain. I am typically a stoneware potter, but was having trouble finding a clay body that I committed to. throwing with porcelain was challenging and I decided that it was not my favorite because of how easy it was to stain when glazing. The black and white finish is something I hope to bring back when I find a consistent product offerings and glaze color options. similar to all of my other pieces, this mug has a one of a kind and original design. The glaze used here was a Laguna color called "brilliant...

simple mug- storm blue
This mug was one of the first that I made when moved into my pottery studio in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh. I was looking to find a style of handle that I could be consistent with, and came up with this design. I was not hooked to the comfort of the handle but was pleased with the look. It sold with other pieces in my first Etsy upload during the 2020 shutdown. THe glaze used here is a Spectrum nova dip glaze named "storm cloud"...

The design continues and wraps around the bottom of the pot, which is stamped in the center with my maker's mark stamp.
