This mini planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and then carved with a design. The glaze process for this pot was to fill the design with yellow (Spectrum "bright yellow" celebration glaze) and to coat the rest of the pot with a Mayco paint on clear glaze. The dark clay body shows through as a beautiful speckled brown. Miniature planters have been a popular item for customers to buy as small gifts for others, and are seen as unique and inexpensive, handmade pieces.
