This mini planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and then carved with a design. The glaze process for this pot was to fill the design with glaze (Spectrum nova storm cloud dip glaze) and to wipe the rest of the pot clean, leaving glaze only in the carving. The dark clay body is sanded smooth but textured to the touch. Miniature planters have been a popular item for customers to buy as small gifts for others, and are seen as unique and inexpensive, handmade pieces.
